On offer is a Jeff Koons Blue Balloon Dog fine porcelain plate from the original 2002 MOCA Limite d Edition. This is number 1119 of the original edition of 2300 produced in 2002 for The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. This was purchased at the museum shop at the Des Moines Art Center in 2002. No chips, cracks, scratches or other defects. The plate has never been out of the box until these photos were taken, mainly to get a photo of the back, and is pristine. The porcelain balloon dog itself is covered with a thin blue metallic layer which is mounted on the mirrored porcelain plate. The back is signed and numbered. The plate is 10 1/2 inches in diameter and about 4 1/2 inches deep. The balloon dogs are among the most beloved and whimsical of the works of this major American artist. The plastic display stand came with it has never been out of the box. The box is original and is similarly pristine. The plate is as new and museum quality. The most recent auction price I have seen for a Jeff Koons Blue Balloon Dog porcelain plate is from England where it just sold for £ 16,000 (about US$26,000). I will ship insured and only to the United States or through the e-bay Global Shipping Center.
