JEP O Gauge Autoreverse Electric Loco Type 120 This steam type loco was made in France between 1953-59. This loco was made by the model makers called JEP who were were known for the quality of their locomotives with powefull and reliable motors. This 120 (JEP reference 6055.LT) features autoreverse control, headlights at one end and smoke deflectors (photo 1). The loco gets its power (20v AC) from the centre rail via a pick-up (photo 2) and is powered by the powerfull AP5 motor It has brown bodywork with gold boiler bands, brass handrails and red wheels. It has a standard JEP automatic coupling at the rear of the tender (photo 4). The tender features a realistic access ladder (photo 5). It is made of tinplate and both tender and loco have alloy wheels. It is 22 cm long and this is extended by 14 cm with the tender It's direction and speed is controlled using a 20v DC output transformer only. It is important not to run it on AC because this will demagnetise the motor and it will need repair The loco is in very good condition - it has minor paint loss on the cab roof and one side of the cab (photo 6) but otherwise the paintwork is bright and shiny.
