THE NUTLEY, NEW JERSEY SMALL COVER WAS SENT TO WASHINGTON, D.C. ON JAN. 18, (1892) WITH A #220 STAMP AND A BULLS EYE KILLER CANCEL. THE NUTLEY POST OFFICE IS IN ESSEX COUNTY. THE OFFICE FIRST OPENED WITH THE NAME FRANKLIN FROM 1849 TO 1887. THE NAME WAS CHANGED TO NUTLEY FROM 1887 TO 1907. IT BECAME A STATION AND/OR A BRANCH OF NEWARK FROM 1907 TO THE PRESENT. THE 1892 CANCEL IS ONLY THE 6th YEAR OF THE NUTLEY NAME. THERE IS A NEWARK TRANSIT BACK STAMP, A WASHINGTON D.C. BACK STAMP AND A CARRIER BACK STAMP (PROBABLY WASHINGTON D.C.).
