THIS HELMET IS 1 OF ONLY 2 SPECIAL EDITION SUPERMAN HELMETS MADE FOR JIMMY VASSER TO RACE THE 1999 US 500 AT MICHIGAN FOR THE CHILDREN OF ST. JUDE'S HOSPITAL!!!!Up for bid today is one of the most RARE and SPECIAL racing pieces of ALL TIME. THIS IS A TRULY SPECIAL PIECE!!! This is Jimmy Vasser's Authentic Target Chip Ganassi Racing Superman helmet from his 1999 US 500 race at Michigan Speedway. This helmet was ***ONLY*** produced for Vasser's 1999 race at Michigan Speedway in the US 500 that Team Target and owner Chip Ganassi did as a special one off race event for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. This particular helmet here was actually "used" by Jimmy Vasser to qualify his #12 Target car for the 1999 US 500. So this helmet was not used and abused like a 500 mile race helmet would be. So this helmet is in BEAUTIFUL CONDITION!!! Please note that There is a "burn mark" on the upper right part of the head area where a piece of flying debris hit Vasser in the head during his qualifying run at over 240MPH, so this helmet is actually race worn. Everything else on this helmet is completely MINT condition! This helmet is also one of ONLY 2 helmets that were ever made for Mr. Vasser to run this race.
