This is a large egg that seems ceramic but others say is wood. The artist's name is JMS Robuchon and I have only seen a couple pieces of his work anywhere online. And I have not been able to find a date for his works. Currently there are some large painted eggs that are very elaborate at a store in Italy that are selling for over $1,500. This is the same artist for sure, because this signature is the same. This is a simple country scene with two men in a hot air balloon waving French flags and they seem happy.
