This signed glove, beautifully presented in a chunky bubble frame and surrounded by photo highlights of Calzaghe's amazing career, was originally bought at auction and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Nicknamed the 'Pride of Wales', Joe Calzaghe held the WBO Super Middleweight title for over ten years and made 21 successful defenses. He relinquished the title to move up to light heavyweight. As his super middleweight and light heavyweight reigns overlapped, he retired with the longest continual time as world champion of any active fighter. On 5 February 2009, Joe Calzaghe announced his retirement from professional boxing, finishing with a record of 46–0 and becoming only the tenth World Champion boxer to retire as an undefeated World Champion. Calzaghe's achievements in boxing were recognised in 2003 when he was awarded the MBE by The Queen and a month after beating Kessler, he was voted the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year for 2007.
