John Deacons museum piece . Closepack in the traditional style of the old French glass houses. Compare this to a circa 1850 Baccarat closepack – the main differences are that this is better made, has more complex and varied canes, is more perfect, has brighter colors, and is a fraction of the cost of the Baccarat. This is not to diminish the Baccarats, which are fabulous weights. The canes are drawn in at the bottom. Look at the pictures to see the variety of canes that include Clichy-style roses in a variety of colors, pansies, shamrocks, stars, swirls, Baccarat-style arrows, a swan, a bird, a dog, rooster, an elk, a goat, and many more. This is one fantastic paperweight. It includes a signature cane “JHD 2010” as well as a John Deacons sticker on the base. Mark my words, in the future, collectors will look back to John Deacons like we know look back to Clichy and Baccarat – with reverence. 2 5/8 inch diameter; 1 15/16 inches tall; 11.5 ounces. Condition: Pristine/New/Perfect .
