JOHN DEERE & "MANSUR" ADVERTISING POCKET BOOK Yea that's right "John Deere and Mansur" Moline Ill. Farmers pocket book, 1903-1904 -orignal not a new copy. That Mansur name hasn't been heard of in a while, has it? The fore runner of our "palm pilot" of course this was be for t even was a pilot of any kind. Boy this is a neat little book, 64 pages total inside, first pages are a cash account ledger for twelve months, then next, neat info like: Average corn yield for all states, (and Indian Territory also) Example: Illinois average corn yield 1894-1902 is $0.28 to $0.21 bu per ac" WOW" It has price range of AG products wheat, corn, rye, timothy, hogs, butter, 1896-1902. Example: 1896, Chicago #2 corn, $0.24 per bu. Number of domestic animals on farms and ranges June 1900, all states "and Indian Territories " Number and acreage of farms and property, values of farm property, values per farm Example: June 1, 1900 average value farm ( IOWA ) $8,023 " per farm" not an acre!!! Then pages 34-64 are all J.D. advertising with pictures and descriptions of all their products like corn planters, discs, harrows, seeders, drills, garden seeders & planters, dump rakes, powered and hand corn shellers, beet planting and harvesting equipment, etc, etc, etc. An envelope for cash in the last page and a calendar on the back page 1903-1904.
