JOHN FULLWOOD RBA (1854-1931). Sailboat on a Lake, Loch Lomond, Scotland, 9-1/2" x 14" sight size (framed size: 19-1/2" x 23-1/2") signed lower right in pencil: John Fullwood. Inscribed in the plate lower left: Copyright published by Eyre & Spottiswoode Ltd., 4 Middle New St. London E.C.J.John Fullwood was a successful English landscape painter and etcher. Born in Birmingham he later settled in Twickenham, where he died. Consequently many of his most memorable etchings are of The Thames and its tributaries, but also a wide range of subjects particularly in Scotland and often incorporating a sailing boat, or sailing boats. He was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists.
