Glass Movie Slide - Second Youth - SIGNED John Held Jr. Graphic is a motion picture "coming attraction" glass slide with a great John Held Jr. signed graphic. These slides were flashed on the screen before and between film showings. The empty space on the bottom was provided so the individual theater could write in their own advance schedule. The film advertised is "Second Youth" from the year 1924. Alfred Lunt was the star and he was supported in this romantic comedy by Dorothy Allen, Jobyna Howland and Lynn Fontainne. Sam Goldwyn, the president of Goldwyn-Cosmopolitan Pictures, hired the noted graphic artist John Held Jr. to design the publicity posters for the film. His work carried over to the glass slide advertising as well. His work is represented If you look closely at the picture showing the graphic in close-up, you can see his name signed under the character on the left. This slide came to us severely damaged. It was broken into three pieces and the color was washed away. It has been professionally restored to the best it can be. The glass is strongly glued with no surface detection. The colors have been brought back to their original design. Even the cardboard frame has been strengthened and restapled. All in all it is in pretty good condition now and should last another 84 years. PayPal is the preferred method of payment. read more
