In excellent original, undamaged condition, base impressed MUCHELNEY. From the John Leach studio pottery in Somerset this is a small lug handled stoneware lidded casserole dish. This is suitable for use as oven to tableware, holds heat remarkably well, dishwasher and microwave safe. Very durable, glazed interior and unglazed outer surface, allowing the flames in the kiln to produce the characteristic Muchelney "toasted" texture and colour. Each pot is handthrown, but each one is unique. Measuring approx 11 cms tall to top knop of lid and diam across approx 6 ins / 15 cms.
