(After) John Lennon (1940 -- 1980, British) "Bag One -- John and Yoko" (L. 106) Limited-edition lithographic print after the 1969 original ink drawing(s) by Lennon for the "Bag One" suite created for Yoko Ono as a wedding present. The image features a circular/line drawing of John holding/embracing Yoko. This lithograph was authorized by Yoko Ono (Marigold Enterprises) on behalf of Lennon's estate, and it was printed and published by Bruce McGaw Graphics in 1988. It bears Lennon's red chop mark in the lower right, is numbered 2037/5000 in pencil in the lower left, and includes Lennon's embossed blind stamp with name and printed signature. The image measures 15.25 x 19.5 inches, and with matting, Plexiglas cover and white frame, the work of art is 37 x 25 inches.Beatles musician John Lennon was both a rock 'n' roll musician/songwriter as well as an artist. He sketched from a very early age and continued drawing certain moments from his life. The "Bag One" series was his illustration of his wedding and honeymoon with Yoko Ono. Considered controversial at the time due to its perceived erotica, the series was exhibited in NYC after Lennon's death. Ono has continued to share Lennon's cache of drawings that he created during 1960's and '70's.
