Just in time for TURKEY DAY!! Up for your consideration is a beautiful VINTAGE retired (circa 1951-1974) Johnson Brothers Wild Turkeys Transferware Platter. T he platter's design is two wild turkeys taking flight in vividly colored rust, green and brown hues. The rounded 8 sided slightly scalloped edge is ornately decorated with a brown and cream colored border of fall flowers and fruits. The platter is impressively large measuring about 20 3/4" long by 16" wide ! It will make an impact on your table as a useful serving piece or on a shelf or wall as an impressive display piece! This platter is in excellent condition. The surface is clean, shiny and smooth with no sign of utensil marks or crazing. T is only 1 slight blemish on this beautiful platter and that is on the back side on the upper right hand corner. It is a rough area right on the tip of the platter. It in not visible from the front. I noticed it by running my finger over the edge of the platter. If not for this 1 small nick, I would call the platter mint. This slight blemish will not affect the usefullness or beauty of this piece, but I did want to point it out. I have also included a picture of it below (the last photo), although the nick was very hard to photograph or see in the photo. The brown stamp on the back of the platter reads: Wild Turkeys (with a turkey read more
