This is an architectural terra cotta frieze depicting the 1889 Johnstown Flood. This is 1 of 2 that exist from one of the first major buildings built after the flood. This measures 32 x 22 x 5, it is cracked into 3-4 sections, several chips, but I have the pieces. The sculpturing is vivid, showing buildings being swept away, and the sheer terror on the faces. It is in a wooden casing to protect it at the moment. The frieze weighs approx. 150 lbs. It does have damage, but can be repaired with the proper know how and adhesives. Due to the nature of this item, it will require local pickup at my location in Homer City PA. Approximately 1 hour east of Pittsburgh. Item must be fully paid for at the time the end of the auction. I am flexible in the pick up arrangements, but would like it to be picked up within 30 days of the end of auction date. I would like this to find a well deserved home. Please contact me if you need additional photos or information. Thank you. If anyone wants to buy this to donate, I will supply you with any documentation you may need for your tax purposes. Once again, this item is damaged look at the pictures. Thank you.
