A rare original manuscript retained copy of a recommendation written by JONATHAN BELCHER [1710-1776] in support of the appointment of John Cunningham as Commissioner of Indian Affairs for Nova Scotia, circa 1762. Written entirely in the hand of Belcher, but not signed by him....Belcher was born in Boston to a prominent New England family, his father having served as Governor of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New Jersey.
