Jose Fernandez is a Cuban born Pitcher for the Miami Marlins. The Marlins drafted him with the 14th overall selection in the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft. Prior to the 2013 season, Fernandez was ranked as the Miami Marlins best prospect and fifth best prospect in all of baseball by Baseball America. Fernandez was selceted to represent the Marlins for the 2013 National League All-Stars. With Fernandez's 14 strikeout performance against the Cleveland Indians on August 3rd, 2013, he became just the sixth pitcher since 2000 to strike out 12 or more batters in consecutive games.
