Authentic Joseff of Hollywood Round Crysanthumum Brooch Russian Gold Plated Signed Joseff Quote from designer... "If you want to acquire a collection, start with a brooch because you will find most use for it. It can be pinned on a suit lapel, collar or pocket...on a hat, a belt, or an evening gown. Remember, gold can be worn with more things than silver and topaz is a good stone that looks smart with almost every type of costume. History of Designer... Joseff began in 1928, when Eugene Joseff was visiting his friend Walter Plunkett (well known costume designer) at the studios. Joseff noticed that they were using modern jewelry in a period movie. Walter Plunkett told Joseff that if he could do better, go for it. Joseff began working with the costume designers and wardrobe departments to create jewelry that went with the era of the film. He plated the jewelry in a Russian Gold technique that gave the jewelry a matte finish which worked well with the studio lights because it did not pick up a glare , also it's antique finish allowed the details to show up better on film.
