JOY DIVISION CLOSER. Released in May 1980 on the Factory label, this issue is from the first run. The record has A1 and B1 on the run-offs and Old Blue? also inscribed on the rub off of side 1. When held up to a strong light, the vinyl becomes semi tranlucent and shines dark red. This is another indication. If you are already reading this, then you already know about the songs, but you do want to know about the quality of this copy of the album. The vinyl is in great shape. The sound is rich and warm and there is no background noise at all apart from a few very faint crackles in the pressing. When held to a strong light, there are some very faint surface marks but these do not afect the playing. The cover is not, unfortunately, in great nick. The outer sleeve has ring wear on both sides and some slight edge wear but there are no tears or major creases. The inner sleeve does not have as much ring wear but there is a split along the bottom where the record has sliced through.
