This is for a lovely French bronze plaquette medal by Jules Prosper Legastelois. It shows a class of artists drawing with a female model in front of them. It is signed by the medallist JP Legastelois on both sides and marked 'Bronze' on the rim. The reverse has a large rectangular cartouche that is blank for engraving and this is surrounded by imagery to do with Science and the Arts. It is in absolute excellent condition with no damage to it anywhere, it has a lovely unpolished patina to the bronze and it measures 49mm (2") in diameter.
