The JSOU is under US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and that is why to logo for the JSOU is so similar to the logo for SOCOM. I have SOCOM coins too ... selling separately. The front side of the coin is the JSOU logo ... and the back shows the SOCOM logo with the emblems of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Joint Special Operations Commands and the Air Force Special Operations School logo in the background. I looked up the meaning of the JSOU logo ... as follows: The JSOU's insignia was derived from the SOCOM symbol and depicts the role of SOF warriors in the command. The black background and two stars represent special operations activities under the cover of darkness. The spearhead depicts the initial forces of attack and how SOF leads the way to subdue the enemy's defenses. The three rings surrounding the shaft of the spear are indicative of the three componenets assigned to SOCOM - Army, Navy and Air Force SOF. The daggers, wings and trident represent these SOF units. In addition, the lightning bolts at the base of the spear signify the inclusion of psychological operations and civil affairs forces into the command.
