JUDY GARLAND "The Wizard of Oz" This is a gorgeous vintage 8x10 double weight glossy photograph. A rare vintage contact print from the original negative of makeup, hair and dress test shots taken in character as Dorothy with date seen near top left border, Oct. 26, 1938, for The Wizard of Oz. Note: When this photograph was produced is unknown. No stamps or writing on the back. Vintage photo and appears to be over 50 years old. By all accounts photos made from these types of original negatives were only available to Studio personnel and Hollywood insiders, hence adding to it's rarity. This one-of-a-kind item is truly a mega-rare super gem indeed! This glorious find comes straight from the archive files of the late great Hollywood columnist Jess Hoaglin. Mr. Hoaglin was a mainstay at "The Hollywood Reporter" as well as working for various news outlets and industry publications for over half a century! This photo is from Mr. Hoaglin's personal private portfolio of the stars he interviewed throughout his illustrious career. Mr. Hoaglin, a devout Showbiz historian, was also a fan and collector and always requested photos of the stars that were of a more personal nature for his private collection.
