THIS IS A VERY UNUSUAL PIECE OF ILLINOIS STONEWARE ADVERTISING!!! T is a pig on both sides of this crock. Inside the pig it says BRACE FARM SAUSAGE. Under the pig it says Brace Farm Kane, Illa. I just picked this piece up at a small antique show in the Chicago area last weekend. I have looked for stoneware for 12 years and have never seen this piece. It appears it once had a lid that is missing. T are a couple very minor flakes off the bottom edge or top rim that are nothing to worry about!!! Very minor! T are NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS, NO HAIRLINES AND NO REPAIRS!!! T is some staining on the inside bottom that does not go through to the outside. The advertising is completely legible but if I had one wish the blue would be a shade darker. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful piece and I am trying to be honest and critical. This piece is very unique but unmarked. T is a chance it could be Western, Macomb, Whitehall or another stoneware potter. This piece stands 4 1/4 inches tall and has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches.
