Up for bids at auction: Up for bids is this old, Keen Kutter DOUBLE-BIT AXE. Here’s a great, “soft” steel axe that was made to use. Unlike many of today’s new axes this blade can be sharpened razor sharp with a file or whetstone and is a true Woodsman’s axe; American Made. This axe is mounted on an old 36 inch hardwood handle. Both bits are even and in good, but used condition with a couple small nicks to file out of the bits. Overall, the axe and handle weighed 4 pounds, 8 ounces. I'm guessing it's a 3 pound axe head. The stamped lettering is a little light, making this a great axe to sharpen and take to the timber. Perfect for anyone who likes using vintage, American made tools. Axe head measures approx 9 inches long X 4 1/2 inches wide across the bits. Please refer to the pictures and feel free to email with any questions.
