Offering Keith Bougourd's Working Elephant Clock. This is a dollhouse miniature. The sale being one inch to the foot. The clock has a new battery and keeps very good time. The clock is in excellent condition. There is a scratch on the glass. It is not a crack simply a scratch. The length is 1 1/4 inches, the height being 1 3/4th inches and the depth is 5/8th inches. The last photograph shows it has the initials of Keith Bougourd. This clock is styled after the original French elephant clock. The elephant, set upon a naturalistic rococco base of Louis XVth style, has his trunk raised (a sign of good luck). There is a gold firgure on top of the clock sitting with cross legs. This is a sign the figure is meditating. There are a number of these real size clocks at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Once again, the miniature led to to discover the original.
