Available for your bidding pleasure is a fine example of an un-restored KELLOGG MODEL 925 MASTERPHONE in 100% bakelite. This is the phone they call the ashtray and is an all too seldom seen example of mid 1930's art deco industrial design.
I acquired this phone as part of a much larger lot of unrelated electronics. In all honesty, I have no capacity for evaluating or restoring a beauty like this. As such, I have made no attempt to polish the phone (beyond simple dusting) or to inspect the viability of the electrics. T is no wall plug and I have no interest in opening the case to ascertain what would need to be done to fit one. The bakelite appears to be in great shape and, in my opinion, is not beyond restoration.
As with all my listings, I welcome your questions and or requests for additional photographs. Upon receipt of payment, the phone will be securely boxed andshipped via Fedex Ground to a street address of the buyer's choosing within the continental United States . Bidders with addresses outside the continental UnitedStates or with any other special shipping requests are invited to inquire for an accurate estimate of shipping charges. If paying with cash, local collection in Los Angeles is both welcome and free.
Given the nature of this item, I am unable to offer any warranties, explicit or otherwise, regarding its actual condition or potential for restorability. However, if upon receipt, you believe I have grossly misrepresented this item, I will gladly accept its return in "as shipped" condition. In the case of a return, the buyer agrees to pay insured return carriage and a 20% administrative fee to cover re-listing.
