Up for bid is a very special and extremely rare item. It is a 1993 All-Star game baseball, beautifully signed on the Sweet Spot by KEN GRIFFEY, JR . The game was played in Baltimore at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on July 13, 1993. Griffey was the starting center fielder and batted third. He went 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI. The American League won 9-3. 1993 was a fabulous year for Griffey. He batted .309, with 45 home runs and 109 RBI. The baseball is in the same super condition as the day it was acquired in 1993 from QVC. In the early to mid 90's, the television home shopping networks were heavily into marketing sports memorabilia. They contracted with the athletes and Score Board, Inc. to obtain many of their high quality items. This Griffey All-Star ball was one of them. It is as gorgeous as one can possibly get. It is pristine white with vibrant black and orange stitching, representing the Orioles' team colors. The signature is sharp and bold, in blue ball-point pen. No fading, no smudges. Even the feel and scent of the ball retain their brand new condition. Griffey's signature has been authenticated by PSA/DNA, perhaps the most respected signature authentication service in the business (certification #G49999). eBay recognizes PSA/DNA as one of the very few legitimate, reliable, and ethical authentication companies. read more
