Rare Kensington Aluminum and brass colored champagne ice bucket. Kensington was started in 1934 by Alcoa to introduce aluminum into the home furnishings market. Lurelle Guild designed the line, including this piece. Spun aluminum with an anodized natural aluminum finish. Decorated with a brass colored band with a grape and leaf pattern. Hinged bunches of grapes make the handles. Could also be used as an ice bucket or a waste paper basket. Marked on the base with the Kensington stamp as shown in photo. Measures 8-1/4 inch diameter, 10-1/4 inches tall. Very Good overall used condition. Some wear and minor scratches from age. Inside has some black spots as shown in photo. Circa 1930s.
