This is a great original etching by American artist Kerr Eby (1889-1946), titled "The Fish Weir." Image size 4 1/4 x 7 3/4 inches, edition of 50, 1921, Giardina 47, pencil signed l.l. "Kerr Eby imp." Kerr Eby was a remarkable printmaker and a member of the Cos Cob Art Colony and friends with many of the important artist of the day, including Childe Hassam and John Taylor Arms. Eby was known for his atmospheric renderings of the New England landscape as well as his dramatic images of WWI. In this quiet image, Eby uses the very fine, delicate lines for which he known to capture the peace and tranquility of the Maine coast. This image is in excellent condition, printed on a cream colored laid type paper with 1 inch margins. Overall this is a beautiful original etching from a very small edition, ready to be framed.
