You are bidding on a very handsome Tiger Oak wood case for storage and display of stereoscopes and stereoviews. This case was made by Keystone View Co., of Meadville , Pennsylvania during the very early 1900's. The case is very solid and still displays nicely with just a few battle scars and previously repaired hairlines that merely add character. All of the hardware works well and is original nickel plated brass. The measurements at the base are just over 13 inches by just 15 1/2 inches with a height of 5 1/2 inches. There are 5 compartments inside the red velour-lined box. The 4 smaller compartments will hold 50 curved mount real photographs each for a total of 200 cards. Of course many more can be stored if they are flat mount photographs or lithographs. The center compartment will easily hold another 150 curved mount photograph type stereoviews if you don't use it for a stereoscope or two. When all 5 compartments are used for stereoviews the case will accommodate 350 heavy curved mounts or up to 700 flat mounted lithographs or the lighter flat mounted photographs. The larger center compartment can house up to 2 stereoscopes depending on their makes and mod els.
