Never met this fellow . . . without a tighter breathing, and zero at the bone". So wrote American poetess Emily Dickinson about the snake.Well, these "snakes" may generate some rapid breaths, all right -- not out of fear, but joy! Our coiled serpent hinged bangle, ring and earrings set is all gilt scales with rhinestone accents, and oh-so-pretty! This is a mixed set consisting of very early Kenneth Jay Lane, marked with his earliest logo (K.J.L., with periods in between) from the '60s. Very rare; the bangle especially may have very well been THE one that started the ever-popular KJL serpentine theme. The ring is not original to the set, but looks good with it as it is in the same theme, and has the same colors. The ring also has the oldest mark, and has the serpent face that has been reproduced in later versions. Over the last four decades, KJL has re-invented and reproduced the snake jewelry line over and over, each one of them, spectacular! Our set has a coiled snake for a hinged bangle. It is heavily textured with scales; its head and the tip of its tail are encrusted with rhinestones. His eyes are emerald green cabochons. This snake has a slightly open mouth and a gilt forked tongue. This snake bangle coils tight around the wrist. Seems small (just 5 1/2") as is, but expands when both sides of the hinged base are pulled apart. read more
