SAKES ALIVE! Check out that whiskey flask hanging from her belt! She has big plans! for sale is a 13.5" tall, Black Mammy whiskey jug. She is 10.5" wide at the elbows and her arms help out as handles. This is a wonderful, hand made, one of a kind, piece of Southern Folk Art. This work of art was turned on the wheel as a bottle, then she was dressed up and accessorised. She wears a white shawl, apron, and head scarf. In the middle of her shawl on the back is a skull stamp. Stamps being a typical logo of t he maker, Karen Labarga, a folk artist living in Plantation, Florida. The bottom is signed and numbered 811. Labarga hopes to have the jug number and the year match during her pottery career. Thanks for looking and please check out my other auction.
