You are bidding on a beautiful A. Klingenberg AKD France Limoges Pink Rose Serving Plate. The plate is hand painted with green, green with pink, pink, yellow and green with yellow. There is hand painted green, brown and golden yellow leaves and brown and green branches. There is hand painted gold along the outer edge and is embossed around the edge. The plate measures 8.75 inches in diameter and 1.25inches in height. The plate is in perfect condition with no scratches or chips. There is the green AKD France and the red hand painted W Pickard A China stamps on the bottom of the plate. A. Klingenberg began a Limoges porcelain factory and decorating studio in the early 1880s. The company merged with Charles Dwenger's decorating studio between the late 1890s and early 1900s, then closed in 1910. They made porcelain, did decoration, and exported.One also finds mention of Kittel & Klingenberg or Kitel Klingenberg company as an exporter of Limoges during 1867-1872, then Klingenberg and Leonard until 1883, then just Klingenberg 1883-1887. The marks of these companies and their relation to A. Klingenberg are unknown. Green porcelain mark of A.
