KOITSU TSUCHIYA~ ORIGINAL PRINT~ YOTSUYA ARAKI YOKOCHO Description : Up for bids is a beautiful print by Tsuchiya Koitsu of Yotsuya Araki Yokocho 1935 a Japanese Woodblock Offered for sale is a charming original color woodblock print by the famous Shin Hanga artist Tsuchiya Koitsu. This is his well known print showing a Japanese street scene in the evening, titled "Yotsuya Araki Yokocho" or "Yotsuya Tea House". The print is titled in the lower right margin and is dated to Showa 10, which is January 1935. The printer's seals show it as a K1 (TYKI-DS-18) First Edition. . The image measures 15 3/8 tall by 10 1/8 inches wide, oban size. The print is in good condition with good coloring, fine bokashi shading and crisp key-lines. However t are some condition issues as t was some restoration work on this print to remove tape residue from the back and bleeding through and t was some light discoloration at the bottom w the tape marks had been, also on the back the paper was roughed up in the places the tape had been and a spot on the front w the discoloration could not be repaired. Because of this I am starting this Rare Print at $99.99 and without reserve. The high bidder will own this fine example of 20th century Japanese art of the woodblock.
