This is the KEYER ONLY for the AN/GRA-71 burst encoder which allowed a pre-recorded message to be broadcast in morse code at a high rate of speed to help avoid the enemy being able to use direction finding equipment to locate the soldiers in VietNam. According to a web site I found it was 1st used with the AN/GRC-109 (or RS-1 spy set) and later used with other radios such as the PRC-64A, PRC-74A and the RS-49. This one does wind up but fails to lock so keeps going until it needs winding again. Any questions please email.
