LOT # 46 Detailed Photos Estate Road Show L46 RARE MILLEFIORI RELIEF SPATTER SCRAMBLE PAPERWEIGHT Item Description Frankly, we have never seen a hand blown Millefiori paperweight in this style before. Instead of inserting a thin slice of the individual Canne to form a traditional paperweight, this artisan chose to cut some hot dogs and apply them as external crowns to the gather, making it absolutely Unique. The base ground would appear to be Czechoslovakian ca. 1960s to 70s. The second hand blown weight is a very bright spatter glass scramble, but here is a twist, in that the unfinished pontil scar and the bubble structure indicates an earlier heritage. We do not suggest an 1850s lineage, especially with the consistency of the enamels, but it is very likely that this weight is Bohemian from the 1920s or 30s. Our informed public will know. One is marked To My Sweetheart, and is 3 x 2.25. Retail Value Estimate: $120-$145 Condition: VG cond, minor wear Weight: 2lb 8oz Measurements (LxWxH): 3.25 inches x 3.25 inches x 2.25 inches Estate Road Show Sunday 1pm CST, this link will allow you to watch this live auction lot by lot , similar to the eBayLive prior to 2008.
