Payment LAMBERTON CHINA ~ CAVALIER HOTEL ~ RARE ~ SERVICE PLATE This week I have the pleasure of offering - as well as several other rare pieces of hotel & railroad china, a rare service plate made for "The Cavalier Hotel" by Lamberton Scammell China & backstamp dates this plate to between 1928 - 1930. No chips, cracks or crazing. Excellent near-mint condition with only a couple teeny stacking marks(Please see & Enlarge the pics). Gold inner & outer stripes are near 100% mint showing only the slightest handling marks.This large & ornate Service plate measures 11" diameter & graphics & coloration are just stunning......made during a time when service plates were being made with great attention to detail to grab the customer's attention & leave a lasting memory - AND, obviously often-times leaving the hotel! Please look at all the pictures & them. One of the most ornate & colorful designs I've seen on an early service plate. The Cavalier Hotel was built in 1927 in Virginia Beach, VA. The oceanside resort features a golf course, beach club. Guests can go boating, fishing, surfing, horseback riding & play tennis.
