This auction is for some vintage pieces of china produced for the United States Lines which operated passenger ships from 1921 to 1969. This group includes a 9-5/8" dinner plate and a two-handled soup cup and saucer. All of these items are in excellent shape--no crack, chips, stains or scratches. They are marked with the Lamberton Sterling logo and "Made exclusively for United States Lines U.S.A."In 1952, the S.S. United States was the most modern and the fastest transatlantic vessel and the china used in its three dining rooms for its 2000 passengers had a modern look as well--featuring a line of gray stars around the rim. This china was manufactured by a number of American restaurant/hospitality companies including Mayer, Scammell, Lamberton and Sterling.I have a lot of experience shipping china and take great care packing. I use bunches of bubble wrap, biodegradable peanuts and very sturdy boxes. Please check my feedback. Thanks for looking. Let me know if you have any questions.
