This auction is for a beautiful pottery luminaria by sculptor Lan Spurgers. It is marked “Lan Spurgers, J.H. Boone 1999.” This is made up of 2 pieces. There is the outside hollow piece and a smaller piece that goes inside to hold the candle. They also could be used separately if you wanted to. The larger one also has a small half circle on the back/bottom so that you can use an electric light inside if you prefer. The larger piece is 13 ½” tall and the base is 5 ¾” in diameter. The smaller piece is 4 ¼” tall and 2 ¼” in diameter. These pieces are beautifully decorated. They have various Native American designs and shapes pressed into them. On the inside of the larger luminaria are marks that look to me like what you would see in cave drawings. Both of these pieces are in perfect condition. No chips, cracks or scratches.
