Here is an original Oil Painting by Chicago Artist John Drapp (1883 - 1938) showing a small cabin in the woods by a stream. The colors are darker than in other works I have seen by him, but the style is the same. The painting (not frame) measures roughly 14 X 18 inches. It is signed and dated in the lower right. The date is hard to make out because of extra brush marks but looks like 1921 (may be 1928 or 1908?). The painting could use a good cleaning as it has not been under glass but is in good condition for its age, just a few tiny spots of paint loss. Apart from a few evening lessons at the Chicago Institute of Art, he was entirely self-taught. The artist had a studio in the Boston Store read more
