Reproduction Marshal badge by Langenbacker The photograph does not do this badge justice! I tried several shots but the reflections kept changing the look of the badge. Nickle plated, deep etching/stamping original period style pin (see photograph) Stamped period makers name which looks like ("Mayer & Wenth") Langenbacker badges were the best and most expensive reproduction badges you could buy back in the 1990s. They have been out of business for some time now because of cheaper imitators. I rarely see a Langenbacker badge offered on eBay (or anyw for that matter). They are highly prized.I am not a collector of real badges but I know from reading websites by collectors that Langenbacker badges were the collectors nightmare because they were copied directly from originals, including the pins and makers name if they had one. D.R.Langenbacker & Sons were one of the premier producers of quality replica badges Mr. Lagenbacker offered his badges for what they were, jeweler quality reproductions of historic badges. Over the years may of the badges he produced were replicated over and over again as lower quality pieces. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thank you. * New information: Collectors of authentic badges fear being fooled by a Langenbacker. A collectors site called the Station House has a section devoted to Langenbacker read more
