About Us Guarantee Shipping Auctions LARGE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN 'WEDJAT EYE' AMULET Faience, 4.39 grams, 33.17 mm. Late Dynastic Period, 26th Dynasty (664-525 BC). A large olive-green glazed composition amulet depicting the wedjat or 'Eye of Horus' symbol. To the outer face, the eyebrow, pupil, rear spiral and drop are all clearly marked in. The amulet is pierced transversely for suspension. Reference: Andrews, C. Amulets of Ancient Egypt, London, 1994 p.43. Fine condition. Provenance: from an old English collection.
