GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THIS CARPET A beautiful very large hand made Persian carpet or rug It is guaranteed hand made, and hand woven It has an amazing central field of the most finely woven organic blooms There is a beautfiul central medallion in dark blues and pinks These blooms and medallion are set on a predominantly rich scarlet red background the initail red background is framed in a band of white, then a pale blue border The deepest border is is dark blue and it is framed by a pale blue and pale pink border The most wonderful and iconic Persian pattern is detailed throughout the carpet This huge Persian is very tightly knotted, the design clearly seen on the reverse It is very heavy and sits well on any floor. It is in 100% wool and of exceptional quality The carpet is approximateley 210 knots per square inch The carpet dates from circa 1920-1930 The fringe is an integral part of the backing and it is bound at both sides An absolutely gorgeous carpet which looks superb on a natural floor CONDITION The carpet is generally in good order throughout the majority of it but there is some patches of wear, nothing we consider to serious or that detracts from the carpet The carpet has a fine tight silky pile, very hardwearing and durable suitable for heavy traffic All our carpets are vintage and as such may require
