This wonderful old gold leaf frame was designed by Standford White in 1907 and made by Newcomb-Macklin around 1907. It is hard to find a large frame of this design and quality in such good shape after 100 years. It was designed for a 30" x 36" painting. The outside dimensions are 37" x 43" and the rabbit size is 30 1/4" x 36 1/4". It is as I found it with a few minor bumps and bruises as one would expect but is in very good condition (see photos). You can see the red blush under the gold leaf in a few spots and a couple small areas appear to have minor gold leaf touch up but no paint applied. It has a beautiful warm look/patina that will nicely compliment a fine quality painting. There are faint pencil markings on the back that looks like: 4566 30x36 455 tone-69303. I assume these refer to the model, size, and gold leaf tone but I am no expert. It does have the classic Newcomb-Macklin joinery in the corners and is perfectly square and very stable/sturdy. Prefer local pick up but shipping is OK. It will be carefully packed in a custom made double thickness box that costs $125.00. The actual shipping costs will be added to this depending on how and where it is shipped.
