Hello and welcome to my auction, today I am offering this wonderful Belemnite sample which would make an excellent display piece. It is positively huge and would compliment anyone's collection or be an excellent start for one. It contains 16 whole belemnites and several partial ones. I purchased it at a fossil auction with many other pieces and was told it was removed from the ocean floor. Belemnites were squid like creatures 200 million years ago. These individuals must have been swallowed up by a magma flow or something similar. The smooth polished bodies contrast wonderfully with the porous surrounding rock. Really fantastic. It is quite amazing. The overall measurements are19" x 15' x 2" and weighs 23 pounds. This item will requuire a sturdy box for shipping, which I will build for it. Shipping weight will be approximately 28 pounds or maybe a little less, I'll have to build the box to find out for sure. I require insurance($1.35 - $2.40 for up to $100)and delivery confirmation, which costs 60 cents. For both your protection and my own, it's the safest way to go. I try hard to keep my packaging fees as low as possible, because your really helping me out and I fully appreciate it. As a general rule my packing fees run between $2.00 and $3.00, if I charge you any more it's because it's really big (like this Belemnite slab, for which I'll charge $5.00 to build a box for) or it's many items and packaging is pretty involved.
