A Fine Antique Map from the Elephant Folio Keith Johnston's Royal Atlas of Modern Geography Central Asia Provenance THE ROYAL ATLAS OF MODERN GEOGRAPHY. Exhibiting, In A Series of Entirely Original And Authentic Maps, The Present Condition Of Geographical Discovery And Research In The Several Countries, Empires, And States Of The World. Author / Engraver Alexander Keith Johnston (1804-1871), Geographer to the Queen. T.B. Johnston , Geographer to the Queen. Engraved and printed by W. & A.K. Johnston, Edinburgh. Published by W. & A.K. Johnston, Edinburgh and London. 1888. Size / Format Paper or plate: 24.40" x 19.50" (62.0 cm x 49.5 cm). Framed map: 22.40" x 17.30" (57.0 cm x 44.0cm). Copper-plate engraving with outline coloring. Thick, medium heavy paper, almost carton. Condition Maps of ours from A. K. Johnston's 1888 Royal Atlas are in Very Good to Near Fine condition. Almost all of the maps are clean, with minor and occassional spots and foxing on a few. Note: Due to the size of the maps, each of them is scanned in parts and then merged afterwards. Some of the images may show unmatched lines and/or shadows. These are the faulty of my scanner; the actual maps are proper and perfect as they are. The original index pages and a photocopy of the title page of the atlas will be included in shipping. ALL OUR ANTIQUE
