I obtained this beautiful piece from an estate sale so age is unknown but it is absolutely GORGEOUS!! I believe it to be silverplate but t are no markings on the bottom by which to identify it. At first I thought it was aluminum but was told it was not but it has a patina on it so it needs to be polished but is beautiful as it is now without having been polished. It's large and stands 8" tall x 21" long from handle to handle x 13 1/2" wide compote style and carved with BEAUTIFUL designs of flowers, leaves and various other embellishments. The handles are large and wide and the entire piece looks exquisite and majestic, as if you were serving royalty! This can be used as a serving piece or as a stunning center piece. Either way, you can't lose. It is in EXCELLENT condition and sells with no reserve.
