CONDITION Excellent ISSUED Originally issued in 1948 SIZE larger 7”MAKER Goebel Hummel sculptor Reinhold Unger BOX NoAVAILABILTY Hard to find in this size and exceptional conditionThis beautiful Hummel is called "CELESTIAL MUSICIAN. It is an oversize Hummel measuring 7" inches in height. It is in excellent condition with no crazing, cracks or chips or repairs. This handpainted angel has the most delicate features as you can see in the pictures. The blond haired cherub is dressed in a blue-green gown with raised yellow stars scattered across the robe. Entirely hand painted in Germany by skilled Goebel artisans, this little violinist is holding his instrument in one hand and a bow in the other. He is also carrying a brown leather bag or satchel. His wings are a tan color outlined in red. This older figurine has the Goebel TMK3, and is incised with the model number 188 and 1948(original mold date). It is impressed with the MI Hummel “signature” on the base in the back. Based on the trademark, this desirable model was made between 1960 and 1963 making it at least 45 years old. I have gone over this sculpture very carefully with a magnifying glass and found NO FLAWS WHATSOEVER.
