ICHTHYOSAUR Vertebra Kimmeridgian, Jurassic - Kimmeridge Clay Dorset , England A RARE, Very LARGE & Very HEAVY vertebra some 11cm x 10.7cm x 4cm in size. This would have belonged to a very large animal. It is as thick as many Ichthyosaur vertebra are wide. There is some compressional distortion & some minor chipping along the edges - BUT this is still a very impressive bone. It has been on display in one of my display cabinets for many a year. If desired the modern white marine encrustation can easily be removed with a weak acid. This is a very large example which should not be confused with run of the mill specimens. Supplied labelled. Numerous photos of the same specimen are shown below, email for further information if required. A very large & very heavy specimen hence the postage costs. Will be sent by parcel post in the UK & will therefore take a few days to arrive.
