Magnificent large Mettlach stein no. 1737, 2 liter capacity. Body of stein is entwined with heavy relief decorations of hop vines, wheat, and an etched verse in a scroll like feature on the front of the stein. There are two rings of "jewels", one at the top and and one at the base of the stein. The inlaid lid features a heavy 3-D relief of a bunch of hops. The handle is in the shape of a hops vine. The interior of the stein is white. The stein is in factory "mint" condition with no chips or cracks. The two small light colored specks on the inlaid lid are not chips, they are small dribbles of the beige color that appears on the decoration on the front of the stein and are under the firing glaize applied at the factory (see last picture). I have also listed on ebay the small .25 liter drinking stein which is a mate to this large serving stein, however this listing ends on 3-17-13. I am starting this stein at 99 cents with no reserve. The stein will be well packed and shipped in a large box with insurance.
