A large old Navajo moccasin button set with a piece of all-natural turquoise in the middle. Someone made it into a pin at one time, I've taken the pin away, you can see the old solder on the back. It's 1 3/4" in diameter and weighs a substantial 14.1 grams. All handmade with a copper loop on the back, it has great patina, would look nice with some buffing on the ridges I think. The fluting on this piece was done with a file. The photo is from the book "Skystone and Silver", this button is NOT made from a peso, but the design is very similar. A nice older piece, unsigned and unmarked, guaranteed coin silver or better, excellent vintage condition.
